bowmans-beach-depositphotosIf you are looking for a quiet beach in Florida, Bowman’s Beach has to be one that you will want to seriously consider.
The beach is located on Sanibel Island near Fort Myers, which is on the west side of southern Florida. This beautiful beach is considered to be one of the best in the US.
It is largely isolated from commercialization and it is totally natural, except for a foot bridge that you go over before you get to the beach.
Once over that, you will walk by some restrooms, picnic tables with barbecue grills, an outdoor shower, and then some woods, grass, and you finally come to the beach.
The beach itself is largely made of many kinds of seashells and there are many kinds. This provides you with a great opportunity to go shelling. Bowman’s Beach gives you a couple of miles of beautiful and pristine beach. Naturally, the further away you walk from the bridge the more private your day will be. You can also go swimming, windsurfing or sailing.
The beach is open year-round and it is family-friendly. Beach wheelchairs are also provided as a courtesy, but you need to call the Sanibel Police Department at least 24-hours in advance. The one thing that you might not be accustomed to is that there is a charge of $2 per hour for parking.
