20 Of The World’s Most Secluded (And Beautiful) Beaches
18. Oswald West State Park, Oregon Coast
Located near the city of Cannon Beach, Oregon, the Oswald West State Park provides a wide beach that is not heavily traveled.
The main reason for this is that it will take a little walking to get to it, but it is well worth it once you get there.
The little hike of one-quarter mile is through a mature forest, and it will give you a great view of the beach on your way there.
The beach, called Smuggler’s Cove, and Short Sands Beach, provides beach-goers with a great sense of restfulness because it is surrounded by mountains. The name Smuggler’s Cove comes from an urban legend which says that pirates have buried treasure there – but it has never been found.
The beach will often have a few surfers there. It is wide and beautiful. There is a campsite on the Park grounds but it has been closed indefinitely. Miles of trails around the State Park provide plenty of opportunity to go hiking. There is plenty of space for parking and there are restrooms by the parking lot.
For those who may not enjoy sand so much, there is a gravel path from the parking lot that ends at an overview of the beach and it has picnic tables and a great view. The beach offers a most beautiful view with large trees coming down to the coastline and a blue sea. It is a great opportunity to get some great pictures and you will certainly want to bring your family to see it.
